Frequently Asked Questions
1. Will I lose control when being hypnotised?
NO, is the short and honest answer. A hypnotherapist can never get a person to do something against their will. What you see on TV are carefully selected subjects, with exhibitionist tendencies, who WANT to be on the stage taking part in the fun. No hypnotherapist can make a client divulge information they don't want to or do something out of character.
Please understand this as it makes the session a lot easier. In fact, there is absolutely nothing to fear as you'll probably experience hypnosis as a relaxing and enjoyable journey through your mind. There is real magic in hypnotherapy, but it's more in the form of a partnership between therapist and client, rather than a master/guru exerting mind control.
2. How many sessions will I need?
I aim to help you in as few sessions as possible. I respect your time and money so I'll do everything in my power to ensure we make positive changes quickly.
Having said that, 'quitting' issues tend to be more rapidly resolved than confidence, weight loss or phobia/fear based issues. To stop smoking, or any other habit related problem you wish to change, you'd typically be looking at 2 sessions. For other issues, 3 to 6 tends to be the average. However, some clients choose to continue the coaching relationship months, or even years, down the line as they experience the benefits of having a trustworthy, knowledgeable and dedicated coach for ongoing support.
3. What's the success rate?
For you, 100%. Although I jest, there is some truth in what I'm saying. If you approach the sessions with an absolute determination to change, and a willingness to follow through on the actions we'll agree together, then I feel certain you'll attain the outcome you desire.
The session's only fail when the client comes in expecting a miracle or with the notion hypnotherapy is something that will be 'done' to them without needing to work on anything outside the clinic. So if you don't fall into any of these categories then our sessions WILL be successful. There’s no length I won't go to make sure this is the case.
